Joe Hagen is a Los Angeles-based violist, violinist, educator, and music entrepreneur. With expertise in viola, violin, orchestration, composition, music production, and audio engineering, he tailors lessons to each student’s goals while incorporating modern music industry skills like remote recording and production.

A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, Joe studied viola with Grammy-winning violist Philip Ying and audio engineering with Grammy-winning engineer Stephen Roessner. He also trained in film scoring and media composition at Eastman’s Beal Institute.

As a performer, Joe plays with the Riverside and San Bernardino Symphony Orchestras, collaborating with conductors behind major film scores (Avatar: The Way of Water, Oppenheimer, The Mandalorian). Through his company Joe Hagen Music, LLC, his work spans classical performance, composing, orchestrating, and music production. His music has been featured on YouTube (MrBeast, Good Mythical Morning) and platforms like Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and Amazon Prime.

Joe is passionate about guiding students at all levels—whether they seek a professional career or simply want to enjoy making music. His real-world experience and success make him an invaluable mentor for aspiring musicians.
